Family Dog Foundations for Adult Dogs

This 4-week course is suitable for adult dogs and anyone who is looking to work on their foundation dog training skills, while keeping it fun and motivating! This class focuses on helping your dog learn how to manage their emotions and make better choices, even in exciting or distracting places. You’ll discover how to meet your dog’s needs through training, movement, and play, building a more fulfilled and confident companion. When: Sundays at 6:15 PM Where: Narrabundah College Start Date: Sunday, November 9th Duration: 4 x 1-hour classes Who: For dogs over 12 months of age. We focus on real-life skills and play-based learning, teaching you not just what to do, but why it works. Focus & Engagement: Keep your dog’s attention, even around distractions. Leash Manners: Teach polite walking with less pulling. Recall: Build a reliable "come when called." Impulse Control: Teach self-regulation and patience. Foundation Cues: Learn key skills like “Down,” "Stay," “Middle,” and “Let’s Go.” Settle Skills: Teach your dog how to relax. Reward Systems: Increase your dog's motivation using food, toys, and praise. Play Skills: Learn how to use fun chase games for training and fulfillment. --- What’s Included: Small group size Resources to support your progress at home. This class is not suitable for dogs with aggression issues or unmanaged reactivity. Missed classes are non-refundable.
