Service Description

Kindy K9s is a 5-week puppy preschool where each session is held at the same time and day each week. Each class includes 30 minutes of active training and playtime, followed by a 20-minute group discussion covering various topics to support you in raising a playful and confident puppy! During this chat, your puppy will be learning the valuable skill of switching off and relaxing. Classes start on Tuesday, June 4th at 7pm. Group numbers are limited to 6 dogs to ensure personalised classes. This class is running at The Canine Campus in Hume. What you and your puppy will learn over the 5 weeks: - Engagement games that will keep your puppy's attention on you. - How to help build your pup’s bravery when faced with new things. - Fun tricks like spin, middle, hand targets, paws up and going to a place. - How to help you puppy find their off switch and relax. - Handling exercises and body awareness activities. - Leash skills and greeting people calmly. - Recall foundations. - The importance of play and biological fulfilment. - How to read puppy body language. - How to prevent jumping, biting and barking. Bonus tug toy included! Our classes are designed to ensure a safe and structured environment, with all interactions between dogs closely managed. We avoid chaotic free-for-alls to protect your puppy's confidence and wellbeing. Puppies need to have had their first vaccination before joining class, but you do not need to wait until all puppy vaccinations are completed. PLEASE NOTE: This class is not suitable for dogs showing signs of reactivity or aggression. If your dog exhibits barking or lunging behaviour towards people or dogs, please reach out to discuss your specific requirements. Families are welcome but children under 10 years old MUST also be accompanied by an adult who is not handling the dog. Your teacher Kylie is certified as a FDM - Family Dog Mediator, and has completed the Puppy Lab Certificate by the School Of Canine Science. She has proven experience in helping families raise confident, happy dogs from puppyhood and through the teenage years!
