Service Description

Primary Connections is a four-week introductory course designed for puppies under 6 months old. Whether your pup is a puppy preschool graduate or just getting started, this class is the recommended entry point if you are new to training with Skypuppy School. Rather than teaching traditional obedience commands, the class focuses on helping you understand what motivates your dog and how play-based training can help you build a strong relationship. We will look at setting clear expectations so your dog learns when it is playtime, when it is time to train, and when it is time to be calm. When & Where: Monday evenings, indoors at The Canine Campus in Hume. What We Cover 🐾 Clear Communication: Learn how to use markers and signals to make learning easier. 🐾 Motivation through Play: Discover how to use your dog’s natural play style to build strong focus, cooperation, and engagement with you. 🐾 Confidence Building: Learn how to read your puppy's body language and use positive experiences to help them navigate new environments and novel objects with resilience. 🐾 Arousal Control: Teach your dog how to switch gears between high energy and calm behaviour, helping them learn how to relax. 🐾 Recall Foundations: How to build a reliable and enthusiastic comeback when called. 🐾 Social Responsibility Skills: An introduction to teaching valuable lifestyle skills like stay, middle, and loose-lead walking. Class Policies & Expectations - Health Requirements: All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations, free from injury, and physically well enough to participate. - Strict No-Greeting Policy: To ensure every dog feels safe, on-leash greetings between dogs are not permitted at any time. Interactions are strictly managed by the trainer. - Family & Children: Family members are welcome to attend! However, children must remain with their team and are not permitted to approach or pet other dogs. - Attendance: Please check your calendar carefully before booking. Because spots are strictly limited to 5 dogs, missed classes cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
