Service Description

Real-world training for older puppies and adult dogs ready to practice manners, focus, and self-control around distractions. This class covers lifestyle skills featured in the GRC Dogsports SR1 test, focusing on teaching your dog how to stay calm and responsive in public spaces while using play and rewards to keep training fun and fulfilling. What We Practice - The "Off-Switch": Helping your dog settle quietly after high-energy games and play. - Loose-Leash Walking: Moving together smoothly without pulling on the lead. - Learning to ignore passing dogs and remain steady around people rather than pulling, lunging, or barking. - Solid Stays & Recalls: Building reliable sit/down stays and enthusiastic comebacks when called. - Practical skills like tucking safely between your legs (middle). Returning Students: If you have trained with Kylie before, you can book your spot directly. This class is open to regular students and anyone who has completed Kindy K9s, Primary Connections or SR Tutoring. New Students: Welcome! Before booking your first group class, please get in touch to make sure this class is right for you. You will need established reward markers and reasonable engagement. This class is not suitable for dogs with unaddressed reactivity. Quick Details Where: Brindabella Business Park, Canberra Airport & Queanbeyan Town Park (check specific schedule for session location) Age: 6 months and older (must have up-to-date vaccinations) Safety: Strict no-on-leash greeting policy between dogs so every team has space and feels safe. What to Bring -Standard flat lead (no extendable/retractable leads) -Flat collar and/or a well-fitted harness -Generous supply of high-value, bite-sized treats -A settle mat or towel -A favourite toy (like a tug toy) -Water and bowl Cancellations & Weather Cancellations: You can cancel or reschedule online up to 24 hours before class. Missed classes or late cancellations cannot be refunded or credited. Weather: In the event of heavy rain, high winds, or extreme heat, sessions will be credited or rescheduled. We will notify you by SMS/email at least 2 hours prior.
