Building focus, teaching calm, and strengthening your connection.

Service Description
Primary Connections is a four-week course for young dogs aged 12 weeks to 6 months. It is an ideal follow-up class for puppy preschool graduates, as well as an excellent introductory class for older puppies just getting started. Rather than teaching traditional obedience commands, the curriculum focuses on helping you understand what motivates your dog and how play can help you build a strong relationship. We will look at setting clear expectations so your dog learns when it is playtime, when it is time to train, and when it is time to be calm. The goal is to help you raise a happy dog who is easy to live with. When & Where: Monday evenings, indoors at The Canine Campus in Hume. What We Cover 🐾 Clear Communication: Learn how to use consistent body language and verbal cues so your dog clearly understands what you are asking them to do. 🐾 Motivation through Play: Discover how to use your dog’s natural play style to build strong focus, cooperation, and engagement with you. 🐾 Arousal Control (The "Off-Switch"): Teach your dog how to switch gears between high energy and calm behaviour, helping them learn how to relax. 🐾 Recall Foundations: Start the step-by-step training needed to build a reliable and enthusiastic comeback when called. Class Policies & Expectations - Health Requirements: All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations, free from injury, and physically well enough to participate. - Strict No-Greeting Policy: To ensure every dog feels safe, on-leash greetings between dogs are not permitted at any time. Interactions are strictly managed by the trainer. - Family & Children: Family members are welcome to attend! However, children must remain with their team and are not permitted to approach or pet other dogs. - Attendance: Please check your calendar carefully before booking. Because spots are strictly limited to 5 dogs, missed classes cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
