Trail Cred

Exploring Canberra’s Trails Together!

Locations will vary each month.

Service Description

Training shouldn't just happen in a paddock or a park - it should take you places! Trail Cred is designed to get us moving through the beautiful nature trails surrounding Canberra. Think of it as a pack hike that is accessible for all levels of fitness. These aren't "training classes" in the formal sense; they are structured social hikes designed for decompression, biological fulfilment, and community. It’s a chance for our dogs to satisfy their genetic need for movement and exploration while practicing the "calm liberty" and neutrality we work on in classes. Why Join a Pack Hike? 🐾 Biological Fulfilment: Nothing lowers a dog’s stress layers like a long, purposeful walk in nature. The same is also true for humans! 🐾 Enjoy the company of other dogs and humans without the pressure of direct interaction. 🐾 Community: Connect with fellow Skypuppy students and friends who share your passion for social responsibility and canine well-being. 🐾 Explore Canberra: Discover new trails and safe walking spots! The Details 🟡 Who: Free for regular Skypuppy students and friends. 🟡 Where: Locations will vary each month 🟡 When: TBC 🟡 Duration: Approximately 60–90 minutes. Gear & Equipment To get the most out of our hikes, I recommend the following: 🟡Harnesses: A well-fitted Y-front harness is preferred to allow your dog full range of motion while exploring. 🟡Long Lines: I encourage the use of long lines (3m–5m) to give your dog the freedom to sniff and explore while remaining safely connected to you. 🟡Water & Treats: Please bring some of water for yourself and your dog, as well as some high-value rewards. You can carry these in a small backpack. The Fine Print 🐾 Skill Level: Dogs should be comfortable walking in the presence of other dogs on lead. 🐾 Safety First: To keep the vibe chill and safe for everyone, all dogs must remain on-lead unless otherwise specified for a particular trail. On-leash greetings are not permitted. 🐾 Health: Dogs must be physically fit for the chosen terrain and up-to-date on vaccinations. 🐾 RSVP: These sessions are free, but registration is essential so I can manage group sizes and send out meeting point details!
